How to Choose Your Size
How to Choose Your Size
Finding the right size is important for both comfort and a secure fit. Body jewelry sizing can vary from person to person, so there is no single size that works for everyone.
The easiest way to choose the right size is to measure a piece of jewelry that already fits you comfortably.
1. Check the Gauge
Gauge (G) refers to the thickness of the jewelry.
Common body jewelry gauges include:
-
14G — approximately 1.6 mm
-
16G — approximately 1.2 mm
-
18G — approximately 1.0 mm
-
20G — approximately 0.8 mm
If you already have a piece of jewelry that fits well, match its gauge when choosing your new piece.
Tip: The higher the gauge number, the thinner the jewelry.
2. Choose the Right Length
For jewelry with a straight bar, such as navel, lip, tongue, and nipple jewelry, the length refers to the wearable portion of the bar.
To find the right length:
-
Measure a piece of jewelry that currently fits comfortably.
-
Measure the bar from end to end, excluding the decorative ends.
-
Compare your measurement with the size options listed on the product page.
Your jewelry should feel secure without creating excessive pressure or leaving unnecessary space.
If your piercing is still healing, please follow the sizing recommendation of your professional piercer.
3. Choose the Right Diameter
For nipple rings and other circular jewelry, size is generally based on the inside diameter.
To measure:
-
Place your existing ring on a flat surface.
-
Measure the distance from the inside edge of the ring to the opposite inside edge.
-
Compare the measurement with the diameter options on the product page.
Choose a diameter that provides enough room for comfortable movement without being excessively loose.
Size Guide by Piercing
Navel Jewelry
For navel jewelry, check both the gauge and bar length.
The best size depends on your individual anatomy and the depth of your piercing. If you already have a comfortable navel bar, use it as a reference when choosing your new jewelry.
Lip Jewelry
Lip jewelry sizing depends on the location of the piercing, lip thickness, and individual anatomy.
Measure your current jewelry whenever possible and compare the bar length and gauge with the product specifications.
Tongue Jewelry
Tongue barbells require the correct bar length for your individual anatomy.
If you are replacing existing jewelry, measure the current bar and use those measurements as a reference.
For a new or healing piercing, always follow your professional piercer's recommendation.
Nipple Jewelry
Nipple jewelry sizing depends heavily on individual anatomy and tissue thickness.
For straight barbells, compare the gauge and wearable length of your current jewelry.
For nipple rings, compare the gauge and inside diameter.
Nipple Rings
For nipple rings, pay attention to both gauge and inside diameter.
If your current ring fits comfortably, measuring its inside diameter is one of the easiest ways to select a similar size.
How to Measure Your Jewelry
For the most accurate results, we recommend using a digital caliper or a precise ruler.
When measuring:
Bar Length: Measure the wearable bar only, excluding the decorative ends.
Gauge: Measure the thickness of the bar.
Ring Diameter: Measure the inside diameter, from inner edge to inner edge.
Please compare your measurements with the exact specifications shown on each EVYRAH product page.
